Construction of a new oncology unit at Livingstone Hospital consisting of a concrete radiation proof bunker and adjacent consulting rooms.
Unique features of the concrete bunker: 2m thick concrete walls cast in a continuous pour – 596 m³ per pour.
Total volume of concrete in the slab: 449 m³.
The building structure consists of a concrete framework and brickwork with structural steel roof under tile. The external façade was designed to match the adjacent accident and emergency facility.
