Description

Restoration of the historic Government House which began life as a five-roomed thatched cottage in the 1840’s and was gradually rebuilt and added to over the years to create the current building. Unisa acquired the building in June 2010 and decided to restore it to its former glory. Restoration has involved ‘opening up’ the buildings which has revealed a number of building techniques used between 1848 and 1970.
